Space Heaters: The Perfect Temperature
Space heaters are designed with selective warming in mind. The perfect solution for families where one person feels cooler than the rest most of the time, they're an absolute necessity. Whether your home isn't outfitted with proper HVAC or you just need a little extra warmth in certain areas, you don't always need to wrap up in blankets to feel cozy. Tuck one of these into your corner of the family room for instant warmth at a moment's notice, or add one to your bedroom for a warmer experience than the rest of the house. Bring chilly fingers and toes back to life sans three layers of socks with our broad selection of space heaters. But before picking one out, consider where exactly you'll need to place it.
Warm Up Smaller Corners
If you find yourself chilly in office spaces and smaller areas with just one or two people, a personal system is the model you're looking for. Many are made specifically to sit on tables or cabinetry and can deliver warmth throughout the space. They're even great for chilly nights and warming up after deep winter storms. If you don't control the temperature in your office building, this will help keep your fingers warm as you type. If you work from home, these personal space heaters are ideal for keeping utility bills low. That's because they're the only room you'll need to increase temps in if you're working from home in an empty house. When the kids get home from school and the adults get home at the end of the day, turn off your personal space heater and let the temperatures rise as you get cozy and relax together.
Keep Your Whole Room Toasty
While you're toasting up fingers and toes at the office, there may be larger areas that are in need of a little extra heat at home, too. These room systems are often designed with high-powered fans that push and recirculate warm air throughout the area. If you're not sure which model space heater is best for your square footage, consider a few factors (mainly how large of an area you need to keep from the cold). Check the specs before purchasing: a 750-watt model can cover 100 square feet, while 1500 watts is better for areas that are closer to 175 square feet. If your square footage is larger, it's best to pick a model with higher wattage. Otherwise, it won't be able to deliver higher temps throughout much of the room at all. Think of it like blowing an air conditioner out the window into a hot sunny day—it simply won't be able to combat the weather unless you're standing right in front of it. Instead, make sure you find the right model for your needs.
